Michael Alonge

Lead Computational Biologist at Ohalo Genetics

Michael Alonge has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Michael is currently working as a Lead Computational Biologist at Ohalo Genetics since December 2021. Prior to this, they were a PHD Student at Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering from August 2017 to December 2021.

Before pursuing their Ph.D., Michael worked at Driscoll's in different positions. Michael was a Research Associate II: Computational Biology from March 2017 to August 2017, Research Associate I: Computational Biology from November 2014 to March 2017, and Molecular Biology Lab Technician from June 2013 to November 2014.

Michael started their professional career at UC Santa Cruz where they had multiple roles. Michael worked as a Student Maintenance Worker from June 2012 to June 2013, Resident Advisor from September 2010 to June 2013, and Work Tech Crew Member from October 2010 to June 2012.

Michael Alonge completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Bioengineering (Molecular) from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they studied from 2009 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, Michael also obtained a certification in R Programming from Coursera Course Certificates in October 2016.
