Martin Herfort

Martin Herfort is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience in avionics and systems engineering. Since April 2012, Martin has served as the Head of the Avionics Engineering Department at OHB System AG, overseeing critical projects such as the CO2M mission aimed at monitoring anthropogenic CO2 emissions and the development of an electric propulsion platform for geostationary satellites. Prior to this, Martin worked at ESA/ESTEC as a Systems Engineer for the ExoMars project, where responsibilities included requirements engineering and budget tracking. Academic credentials include a Diploma in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Technische Universität Berlin and experience as a lecturer in human spaceflight technology. Martin's earlier roles encompassed satellite engineering and mission preparation, providing a strong foundation in aerospace project development and implementation.
