James (J.J.) Crumpler is an experienced professional in environmental science and public administration, currently serving as an Assistant IT Auditor 2 and Performance Analyst at the Auditor of State - Ohio since August 2019. Prior roles include Field Ecologist and Field Technician at Cardno JFNew, where expertise was applied in ecological restoration and data analysis using various GIS technologies. James's background includes significant contributions to sustainable energy policy research at Miami University and collaboration on multiple ecological restoration projects across several states. Under the direction of Auditor Keith Faber, the Auditor of State's office is responsible for auditing and providing financial services to all public offices in Ohio. This encompasses more than 5,800 entities including cities, counties, villages, townships, schools, state universities and public libraries as well as all state agencies, boards and commissions. The office also provides financial services to local governments, investigates and prevents fraud in public agencies and promotes transparency in government. The office is divided among eight regions, including a state region.
