Derek Richardson

Derek Richardson has extensive experience in public administration and music education. Currently serving as an Investigator (Program Administrator 3) at the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services since November 2020, Derek oversees investigations related to whistleblower cases in the Office of the Chief Inspector. Previously, as an Internal Fraud Reviewer, Derek developed processes to ensure compliance and proactively detect internal fraud within the Office of Unemployment Insurance Operations. Derek's earlier role as Director of Bands and Music Teacher at Southeastern Local Schools involved teaching various music courses and managing the district's instrumental music program. Derek holds a Bachelor of Music Education from The Ohio State University and is pursuing a Master of Public Administration and Leadership at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University.
