Melisa Callahan is an experienced healthcare professional currently serving as a Surgical Nurse at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center since May 2014, specializing in orthopedic nursing. In addition, Melisa has been a Pediatric Nurse with the Olentangy School District since September 2012, focusing on promoting student well-being and managing health care interventions. Previous roles include a Communication Liaison at the Ohio Hospital Association and a Surgical Nurse at OhioHealth from April 2011 to February 2014, where proficiency in various surgical specialties was developed. Melisa began as a Registered Nurse at Avista Adventist Hospital from June 2001 to July 2010, supporting patients in surgical and labor and delivery settings. Melisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Regis University and an Associate degree in Nursing from Front Range Community College, and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Business Administration and Healthcare Innovation at The Ohio State University. Additionally, Melisa has an Associate degree in Paralegal studies from Capital University Law School.

The Ohio Hospital Association was established in 1915 and represents 236 hospitals and 14 health systems across Ohio. OHA exists to collaborate with its members to ensure a healthy Ohio, and is governed by a Board of Trustees composed of hospital leaders from all regions of the state.
