Desiree Blankenship currently serves as General Counsel and Human Resources Director at the Ohio State Bar Association, a position held since June 2014. Prior to this role, Desiree was the Assistant Director and Chief Legal Counsel at the Ohio Department of Commerce from February 2012 to June 2014, and held multiple positions including Deputy Chief Legal Counsel and Assistant Chief Legal Counsel at the Ohio Auditor of State from May 2004 to February 2012. Desiree Blankenship earned a JD in Law from Capital University Law School between 2003 and 2006 and a BA in English from The Ohio State University from 1997 to 2002.

The Ohio State Bar Association, founded in 1880, is a voluntary professional association open to any person who has been admitted to the practice of law. Law school students, paralegal students, and paralegals and legal administrators are eligible for membership in the OSBA as associate members. The OSBA represents more than 25,000 Ohio lawyers and judges, nearly 68 percent of Ohio law practitioners. Total membership is about 30,000, which includes associate members.
