Chris Ament

Chief Information Officer at Ohio University

Chris Ament has been the Chief Information Officer at Ohio University since May 2016. Prior to that, they were the Senior Director, Academic Technology and User Support at the University of Minnesota from September 1999 to May 2016. In that role, they were responsible for strategy development and operations of academic technology and end user support services across the university enterprise. Chris was also a founding member of the IT Leadership team and a leader in developing effective organizational management practices across an organization with nearly 500 FTE.

Chris Ament began their educational career by obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. Chris then went on to earn their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management.

They work with Jenny Hall-Jones - Interim VP for Student Affairs, William D. Schafer - Interim VP for Student Affairs, and Nico Karagosian - VP for University Advancement; President & CEO of The Ohio University Foundation. Their manager is Duane Nellis, President.
