Sarah Newgarde has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Sarah began their career as a Pro Shop Assistant at High Bridge Hills Golf Club in 2016 before moving on to work as an Office Assistant at Ohio University Culinary Services in 2017. At the same university, they also served as a Media Relations Intern for their athletics department, where they wrote articles, game previews, and recaps, and live-tweeted for various NCAA Division I sports.
In 2018, Sarah took on the role of Media Intern at the Southern Ohio Copperheads, where they wrote game recaps, live-tweeted, and managed social media accounts. Sarah also gained experience in public speaking by reading announcements and introducing players over the PA system.
From 2016 to 2019, Sarah worked for Backdrop magazine, starting as a Social Media Coordinator and later transitioning to roles such as Marketing Director and Marketing Designer. During their time there, they gained expertise in marketing and design, including working with InDesign to create game day programs.
In 2019, Sarah joined the Everett AquaSox as a Marketing and Social Media Manager, responsible for managing social media accounts, compiling statistics, and writing game recaps. Sarah also served as a Marketing/Media Relations Assistant, where they performed a variety of tasks, including designing game day programs and maintaining social media presence.
Sarah's most recent position is as the Director of Athletics Communications at Ohio University, starting in 2021. Sarah is currently responsible for managing communications for the athletics department, specifically in football administration and promotions.
