Andrea Shum

Andrea Shum has a strong background in finance and project management. Andrea began their career as a Financial Manager & Consultant at PNUD - Centro de Gestión Tecnológica, where they worked on development projects for small and medium-sized enterprises in Central America and the Caribbean. Andrea was responsible for tasks such as sustainable development, strategic planning, corporate social responsibility, and cost monitoring. Andrea also held roles as a Partner & Consultant at Monarka Ventures, where they worked on projects promoting sustainable development, and as a Project Officer at Oikocredit, where they analyzed the performance of private companies and monitored project performance. In their most recent role at Oikocredit, Andrea served as an Accounting and Tax Specialist for offices in Latin America, overseeing compliance and coordinating with outsourced parties and internal staff.

Andrea Shum began their education journey at the Universidad de Costa Rica UCR from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained a Licentiate degree in Industrial Engineering. In 2005, they attended the Maastricht School of Management for a Postgraduate Degree in Financial Management. From 2007 to 2009, Andrea pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Banking and Finance at the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. In 2009, they furthered their education with a Postgraduate degree in Franchise Consulting from the Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología. Most recently, in 2021, Andrea completed a Specialization in Tax at the Tecnológico de Costa Rica.
