Simplice Chigbo

Simplice Chigbo has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Simplice started their career in 2002 as the Chef de Division Contrôle de Gestion at Telecel CI (ex MTN CI), where they worked until March 2003. From April 2003 to July 2008, they served as the Chef de Service Gestion des Risques at FRC (Fonds de Régulation et de Contrôle Café Cacao). In August 2008, they joined DAFCI as the Directeur des Opérations de Marchés and held this position until March 2013.

Simplice then transitioned to ROOT CAPITAL, where they worked as the Senior Loan Officer for Cote d'Ivoire, Togo, Benin & Cameroon from October 2012 to January 2016. Simplice then joined IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative, as the Program Leader for the Farm & Coop Investment Program (FCIP) from July 2016 to March 2017. During their time at IDH, they managed and coordinated the program, along with overseeing the Cocoa Challenge Fund.

Simplice's next role was as the Directeur général at Plot Enterprise Cote d'Ivoire from November 2017 to July 2018. The company specialized in cocoa bean processing and marketing cocoa-derived products.

Most recently, Simplice Chigbo is working at Oikocredit as an Agriculture Investment Officer starting from July 2019.

Simplice Chigbo has a diverse education history in several fields of study. In 1992, they attended Ecole Supérieure de Commerce d'Abidjan (ESCA) and obtained a degree in Marketing Commerce, graduating in 1997. In 1996, they attended Brighton University, Language Center, where they received a Certificate of attendance for completing a linguistic stage. In 2013, Simplice earned a Certificate from the American Bankers Association (ABA) for their knowledge and skills in analyzing financial statements. In 2016, they completed a Project Management for Professionals Certificate program at Canvas. Most recently, in 2018, they attended SCI Education and received an ICE-MBA (USA) Certificate for their studies in Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Managerial Business Administration. Simplice has also obtained another certificate in analyzing financial statements from the American Banking Association, although the specific dates of this certification are unknown.
