Fiona Carson has extensive experience in the field of environmental management and spill response. Fiona started their career as an Environmental Scientist at MWH, where they were involved in contaminated land risk assessments and groundwater monitoring for remediation projects. Fiona then worked as a Spill Response Manager for the United States Air Force, overseeing environmental compliance and reporting. Fiona later joined Alpha Environmental as a Project Manager, leading emergency spill response efforts in the East of England. Currently, Fiona is employed at Oil Spill Response Ltd, where they have held various roles, including Senior Response Specialist, Global Process Lead & Duty Manager, and Principal Trainer. In these positions, they have been responsible for developing standards, delivering accredited courses, and improving oil spill response and incident management capabilities.

Fiona Carson obtained a Master of Science in Risk and Safety Leadership from the University of Portsmouth, with a duration of two years from 2022 to 2024. Fiona also earned a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Bristol, which took place from 2003 to 2007.

Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) is the largest international industry-funded oil spill response cooperative which exists to respond to oil spills wherever in the world they may occur, by providing oil spill preparedness, oil spill response and subsea well intervention services. We are wholly owned by several of the most environmentally responsible oil and gas companies, and our membership represents the majority of global oil production. We currently employ 275 people across 10 locations around the world.
