Head Of Technology Evolution at Oil Spill Response

Liam Harrington-Missin has extensive work experience in the field of metocean and oil spill response. Liam started their career at Fugro as an Oceanographer, where they worked on various projects and joint industry projects. Liam then advanced to the role of Senior Oceanographer, where they took on project management responsibilities for large multi-disciplinary consultancy contracts.

In 2012, Liam joined Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL) as a Senior Metocean Consultant. Here, they served as the main point of contact for metocean issues and led the development of OSRL's oil spill modelling capabilities. Liam also played a key role in the development of MATLAB software to enhance business efficiency.

Over the years, Liam took on increasingly senior roles at OSRL. As Global Geomatics Lead, they were responsible for leading the global delivery of Geomatics services for oil spill preparedness and response. Liam also managed the oil spill modelling team and duty team.

In their most recent role at OSRL, Liam served as the Head of Data, Technology & Innovation, where they oversaw the development of new and existing services to maintain OSRL's position as a world leader in oil spill preparedness and response.

Overall, Liam Harrington-Missin has demonstrated expertise in metocean and oil spill response, project management, and innovation in their various roles at Fugro and OSRL.

Liam Harrington-Missin studied Oceanography at the University of Southampton from 2002 to 2006, earning a degree in MOcean (MSci). In 2014, they obtained certifications including Associate Member (ACMI) from the Chartered Management Institute, Leader in Sales Management (LISM) from The Institute of Sales Management (ISM), and Member Status from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Liam is also recognized as a Chartered Marine Scientist (CMarSci) by The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), and a Chartered Scientist (CSci) by The Science Council. Liam is a Member Status (MIMarEST) of IMarEST.
