Dr. Stephen Turkovich

Dr. Stephen Turkovich has a significant work experience in the healthcare industry. Dr. Stephen started their career in 2006, working as a Pediatric Hospitalist at UBMD Pediatrics and also serving as the Co-Medical Director of Newborn Nursery at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo. In 2014, they took on the role of Chief Medical Officer at John R. Oishei Children's Hospital and became the President of the same institution in December 2022. Alongside their roles, they have also been involved in various positions related to quality and patient safety in the Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Stephen Turkovich completed their education at several prestigious institutions. In 1999, they graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Anthropology from SUNY at Buffalo. Dr. Stephen then went on to earn their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in 2003. Dr. Turkovich pursued further specialization by completing a Pediatric Residency at the Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong, University of Rochester from 2003 to 2006. Most recently, in 2019, they attended the Harvard Business School Executive Education to enhance their expertise in Managing Health Care Delivery.
