Stephen Hilbert has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology, finance, and investment banking sectors. Starting in 2000, they worked as a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch before moving on to Charles Schwab in 2002, where they held the role of Vice President, Financial Consultant until 2009. From 2009 to 2011, Stephen worked as Vice President at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in the JP Morgan Private Bank division. In 2011, they joined The Rainier Group as Principal, responsible for business development of private family office services and asset management accounts.
In 2013, Stephen became an Advisor/Consultant/Investor for Kineta, where they advised the company on investment strategy and later assisted in corporate development and marketing strategy. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as Vice President for Copperstone Partners.
Stephen's involvement in the biotechnology sector began in 2017 when they became Chief Business Officer at Oisin Biotechnologies, a company focused on combating age-related diseases using gene therapy technology. In the same year, they also became Chief Business Officer at OncoSenX, a joint venture spinout between Entos Pharmaceuticals and Oisin Biotechnologies, with a focus on combatting cancer through a novel gene delivery platform.
Throughout their career, Stephen has demonstrated expertise in corporate strategy, capital raising, investor relations, business development, and corporate finance. Stephen has also been involved in intellectual property and commercialization strategy, as well as finance, IP, and licensing discussions.
Stephen Hilbert obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in International Relations and Political Science, with a focus on US Strategic Foreign Policy, from the University of Washington. Stephen attended the University from 1996 to 2000. Following that, they pursued an MBA in Global Business from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, attending from 2005 to 2007.
Additionally, Stephen Hilbert obtained several certifications, including a Certificate in Entrepreneurship - Emerging Economies from Harvard University in May 2020. In September 2001, they became a Certified Financial Manager through the College for Financial Planning & Merrill Lynch. In September 2002, they received training as a Dale Carnegie Instructor from the Dale Carnegie Institute through Crace & Associates.
