Shelby Stewart

Shelby Stewart is an accomplished media professional currently serving as an Associate Editor at Essence Communications Inc. since July 2023, overseeing the content management of ESSENCE.com. Stewart has extensive experience as a contributing and freelance writer for Okayplayer and has held roles such as News Editor and Senior Staff Writer at Houstonia Magazine. Additional freelance writing engagements include contributions to EDITION by Modern Luxury and VMP (Vinyl Me, Please), along with a creative consultancy position at Nike for the 40th Anniversary campaign of the Air Force One.
