Marie Poulin has been working in the design and digital strategy field since 2004. Marie began their career as a Graphic Designer at York University Student Centre in 2004, where they designed marketing collateral, websites, communications, and signage for events. In 2005, they moved on to become an Interactive Designer at Thinkhouse Design. In 2007, they established their own independent graphic design business, providing interaction design and strategy for small business owners. From 2014 to 2015, they were the Chief Mentor at the Digital Strategy School, helping fumbling design freelancers transition into digital strategists. Finally, in 2015, they co-founded Oki Doki, where they currently work as a Designer and Digital Strategist.
Marie Poulin's education history includes a Permaculture Design Certificate from the Permaculture Association, obtained between 2017 and 2018. In 2016, they completed a Specialization from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in Design Thinking and Innovation. Marie also obtained four certifications from NovoEd between 2016 and 2017, in Discovery Tools, The Innovative Workplace, Design Thinking 2: Ideas to Action, and Design Thinking 1: Insights to Inspiration. Finally, they obtained a Bdes in Graphic Design from York University in 2005, and an Honours Bachelor of Design in Graphic Design from York University in 2001.
