Masahiro Hayashi

Masahiro Hayashi, Ph.D., is an experienced intellectual property professional with a background in biological sciences. Currently serving as an Intellectual Property Specialist at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology since March 2024 and as an Intellectual Property Manager at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute for Geriatrics and Gerontology since May 2023, Masahiro has extensive experience in patent law, having held the position of Patent Attorney and Manager at Vivace IP Attorneys since May 2018. Previously, Masahiro worked as an Intellectual Property Specialist at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University from January 2020 to June 2023, and as a Patent Engineer at Takaoka IP and Furuya & Co from 2016 to 2016 and 2008 to 2016, respectively. Early in the career, research roles were held at Rinshoken and Perseus Proteomics Inc. Masahiro earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Kyoto University and both a Master of Science and Doctor of Science from Hiroshima University, specializing in Biology/Biological Sciences.
