Louise Bass

Trustee at Oklahoma City University

Louise Bass has focused on the performance and study of 20th Century French music throughout her career. Bass has spent extensive time in Paris studying with renowned organist Susan Landale. She has appeared as a guest artist at the Tuscia Music Festival in Viterbo, Italy, playing concerts with French violinist Bernard Zinck. She travels as an accompanist for instrumental and vocal musicians and is a frequent artist-in-residence with the Piedmont College Choir in Georgia, appearing recently with the choir at Spivey Hall in Atlanta. She has performed at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta and the historic St. James Cathedral in Chicago. Bass attended Oklahoma City University and Indiana University, where she was a finalist in the Ottumwa (Iowa) National Organ Competition. A longtime church musician, she served as the associate organist-choir director at the Cathedral Church of St. John in Albuquerque, and is currently an adjunct instructor of music at the University of New Mexico.
