Judith A. James, MD, PhD has an extensive work experience in the medical and research field. Judith A. James began their career in 1988 at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center as a Senior Research Technician. Judith A. James later joined the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in 1994, where they held various roles including Senior Research Scientist, Assistant Member, Associate Member, Department Chair of Arthritis & Clinical Immunology, and ultimately Vice President of Clinical Affairs.
In addition to their work at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Dr. James also held positions at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Judith A. James served as a Professor of Medicine starting in 2005, and later became a Professor of Pathology in 2010. Judith A. James also held the role of Associate Vice Provost for Clinical and Translational Science starting in 2014.

Judith A. James obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, with a minor in Mathematics, from Oklahoma Baptist University from 1986 to 1989. Judith A. James then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center from 1989 to 1993. Following their Ph.D., they went on to earn their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where they studied Medicine from 1990 to 1994.
