Tony Thornton

Tony Thornton is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in both media relations and internal communications. Currently serving as a staff writer and media relations manager at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation since August 2021, Tony previously held the position of senior corporate communications professional at Devon Energy for nearly 12 years. In this role, responsibilities included organizing media events, writing news releases, and creating executive presentations. Tony began the career at OPUBCO Communications Group, where over 26 years as a senior reporter focused on investigative work, along with various roles in reporting and editing. Tony holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism Education from the University of Oklahoma.
