Jim Canton

Jim Canton joined OSB March 1, 2018, following a long tenure with banks in the Oklahoma City and Edmond markets, including his term as the Edmond Market President for Bank SNB. Jim was the Founder and CEO of First Commercial Bank and its parent, First Commercial Bancshares, Inc., starting in 1996. A native of Joplin, Missouri, Canton obtained a bachelor’s degree from Missouri Southern State. Canton’s 39-year banking career includes lending positions with banks in Los Angeles, California and the Kansas City metropolitan area prior to joining Quail Creek Bank (OKC area) in 1983. His lending background includes commercial and residential real estate, secured asset-based lending, and commercial and industrial business lending. Canton founded the Central Oklahoma Charities, which in partnership with First Commercial Bank, benefitted several local children’s charities.
