Kirk Slaughter

Kirk Slaughter has extensive experience in executive leadership and management roles, primarily in the convention and event management industry. Kirk is currently the President and CEO of Oklahoma State Fair Inc., a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Vice President of the same organization since September 2021.

Before joining Oklahoma State Fair Inc., Kirk was the President and CEO of Strategic Venue and Destination Resources, LLC from May 2019 onwards. Kirk was also the Executive Director of the National Cutting Horse Association from May 2019 to October 2019, where they oversaw various functions such as strategic planning, operations, marketing, and finance.

From 1998 to 2019, Kirk worked for the City of Fort Worth as the Director of Fort Worth Convention Center and Will Rogers Memorial Center. Kirk played a pivotal role in managing the operational, sales, and marketing efforts of both venues, including overseeing a substantial budget and leading expansion and redevelopment projects. Additionally, they led the development of the Omni convention center hotel for the City of Fort Worth.

Prior to their time in Fort Worth, Kirk served as the Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Bristol Hotels and Resorts from 1995 to 1998. Preceding that, they were the Sales Manager for the Plano Convention Center and Plano Convention and Visitors Bureau at Visit Plano from 1989 to 1995. Kirk also gained experience in convention and visitor bureau management while working for the Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau from 1987 to 1989 and the Amarillo Convention & Visitor Council from 1986 to 1987.

Kirk Slaughter completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Marketing from Texas Tech University from 1981 to 1985. Prior to this, there is no available information regarding their education history, except that they attended Odessa Permian.
