Ryan Blanchard

Ryan Blanchard is a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in thermal hydraulics, combustion experiments, and multi-phase turbulent reacting flows. Currently, Ryan works at Oklo Inc as a Thermal Hydraulics engineer since January 2023. Prior to this, Ryan served as a Research Engineer at R-Zero for a brief period in 2022 and held the position of Senior CAE Engineer at Electrolux from November 2016 to August 2022. Ryan's career includes roles as an Optimization Algorithm Developer at NUMECA International and as a PhD Researcher at Virginia Tech, where significant work involved designing and conducting combustion experiments. Earlier experience includes a mechanical engineering role at GE Global Research and an internship at Honeywell Aerospace focused on CAD and FEA design. Ryan earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech between 2011 and 2014.
