Dr. Stephen Ngulu(DVM) has a diverse range of work experience in the veterinary field. Dr. Stephen started their career in 2011 at the Lamu Animal Welfare Clinic, where they provided veterinary services and led a team that treated animals in remote villages. Dr. Stephen also established and ran an animal awareness program for school children in Lamu town.
In 2011, Dr. Ngulu also began working as a wildlife veterinarian at the Ol Jogi Wildlife Conservancy. Dr. Stephen held this position until 2015 and gained experience in wildlife management and conservation.
In 2015, Dr. Ngulu joined the Ol Pejeta Conservancy as a wildlife veterinarian and Head of the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Dr. Stephen provided technical advice on sanctuary management, developed fundraising strategies, and supervised staff. Dr. Stephen was also responsible for the veterinary management of chimpanzees at the sanctuary and played a role in chimpanzee rescue, relocation, and advocacy efforts.
Throughout their career, Dr. Ngulu has demonstrated a commitment to wildlife conservation, animal welfare, and community outreach.
Dr. Stephen Ngulu obtained a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Nairobi from 2005 to 2010. Dr. Stephen then pursued a Master of Science degree in Veterinary Preventive Medicine, Epidemiology, and Public Health from the Royal Veterinary College, U. of London from 2018 to 2020. In 2022, they enrolled at the Quantic School of Business and Technology and completed an Executive MBA program with a focus in Business Administration and Management, General in 2023. Additionally, Dr. Ngulu obtained several certifications in various areas of economics and operations management from the Quantic School of Business and Technology between 2022 and 2023.
