Kenya Smith Godette

Kenya Smith Godette is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in media relations and public health communications. Currently serving as the Director of News & Media Relations at Old Dominion University since March 2023, Kenya previously held the role of Public Health Communications Manager/PIO for Guilford County from January 2021 to March 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Communications Officer for the Government of Bermuda and progressing through various roles at Freedom School Partners, including Communications & Development Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator. Kenya also worked as a Communications Consultant for Charlotte Center City Partners in 2014. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Kenya earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies and International Public Relations in 2014.
