Mike Hall

Mike Hall serves as a Professor of Music specializing in Trombone and Euphonium at Old Dominion University since July 2006, where responsibilities include directing the brass choir and brass chamber music as well as coordinating wind and percussion performance studies. Additionally, Mike Hall is a performing artist with Conn-Selmer, Inc. and has contributed as the Assistant Editor for Literature Reviews for the International Trombone Association Journal from 1998 to 2023. Previous roles include trombone instructor at the Virginia Governor's School for the Arts until June 2020, Assistant Professor of Trombone at the University of Kansas (2000-2006), and Assistant Professor and director of jazz ensembles at Eastern Michigan University (1995-2000). Mike Hall holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trombone Performance from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Music from the University of Arizona, and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
