Pearson Pearson, Ph.D., currently serves as the Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Center for Orientation, Retention, and Exploration at Old Dominion University since September 2023. Previously, Pearson held the role of Director of New Student Orientation & Transitions at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from June 2021 to September 2023. At Florida State University, Pearson served in various capacities, including Assistant Director of Transition & Engagement for the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement, and was instrumental in managing orientation programs and family connection advisory initiatives. Early career experiences include coordinating Off-Campus and Commuter Services at the University of Tennessee and serving as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Mississippi. Pearson holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Florida State University, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi.
