Clement Chinaka is the Managing Director of Old Mutual's Rest of Africa division. Clement has over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on strategy, product development, and sales support.
Clement began their career as an actuary with Old Mutual South Africa in 1999. In this role, they were responsible for product development and management, as well as sales support. Clement then moved to Old Mutual Zimbabwe in 2000, where they served as Chief Actuary and Assistant General Manager for the Actuarial Division. In 2005, they were promoted to Assistant Divisional Manager - Actuarial.
In 2006, Clement returned to Old Mutual South Africa, where they held the position of Strategy Executive and head of channel finance. In this role, they were responsible for strategy development and planning for Old Mutual's retail business targeting the middle income to affluent market. Clement also managed the economics of the company's retail distribution channels.
In 2007, Clement was promoted to Managing Director - Corporate Segment. In this role, they were responsible for Old Mutual's institutional customers, offering services to retirement funds. Clement held this position until October 2019, when they were appointed Managing Director of Old Mutual's Rest of Africa division.
Clement Chinaka's educational career includes completing an advanced management program in business administration and management at Harvard Business School. Clement is also a fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries and has completed a' level and o' level courses in actuarial science at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. In addition, they hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science + Statistics from the University of Zimbabwe.
Clement Chinaka reports to Iain Williamson, CEO. Clement Chinaka works with Casper Troskie - CFO, Raymond Berelowitz - Customer Solutions Director, and Richard Treagus - Chief Risk Officer.
