Rafael Sanchez

Chief Impact Officer at Old National Bank

Rafael Sanchez is Chief Impact Officer at Old National. He has also served as Private Banking President. Prior to joining Old National in 2018, he was President and CEO of Indianapolis Power & Light Co. (now known as AES Indiana), a utility that provides retail electric service to more than 490,000 customers in Central Indiana. Rafael has served on numerous boards and lent his leadership to countless organizations and initiatives in the Greater Indianapolis area. Among them, Rafael serves as Co-Chair for the Indianapolis 2024 NBA All-Star Game, President of the Crossroads BSA (Boy Scouts) Council, Director of the Community Health Network board, Secretary for the Indy Championship Fund, and Immediate-Past Chairman of the Board of United Way of Central Indiana. In 2017, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb presented Rafael with the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash award for his long-standing civic engagement efforts as a leader in the Indianapolis community. A native of Puerto Rico, Rafael earned a bachelor’s degree in social sciences and political science from the University of Puerto Rico and his law degree from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
