Bernadette Gibson

Director Of Pastoral Care at Old St. Patrick's Church

Bernadette Gibson has a diverse work experience, starting in 1985 with a role in sales and inventory at Blackmans Jewelry. Bernadette later worked at Roger and Hollands Jewelers as a Merchandising Specialist and then went on to establish their own custom jewelry business, Ballyea Jewelry Designs & Moore, in 1991. In 2005, Bernadette joined Old St. Patrick's Church as the Director of Pastoral Care. Additionally, they had a brief role as a Resident/Community Assistant during their time as a student.

Bernadette Gibson's education history begins with their attendance at St. Barnabas Catholic Elementary School from 1975 to 1983. Following that, they enrolled at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School from 1983 to 1987. After completing high school, they pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies at Illinois State University, from 1987 to 1991. Subsequently, in 1997 to 1998, Bernadette enrolled at the Gemological Institute of America (located in Carlsbad, CA) and achieved the Graduate Gemologist certification. Moving forward, they attended the Institute of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University Chicago from 2006 to 2013, where they obtained a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree, specializing in Pastoral Studies/Counseling. Additionally, Bernadette Gibson participated in the Urban CPE Consortium, Inc. from 2011 to 2012, achieving the Level I learning standards of the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (Certificate of Completion).
