Marjorie Newman has a diverse work experience in higher education. Currently, they are the Activity Director for a U.S. Department of Education Title III Grant at The University of Olivet. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Student Transitions and Academic Success.
Before joining The University of Olivet, Marjorie worked at Grambling State University. Marjorie'sroles there included Adjunct Professor, Department of Mass Communication Undergraduate Coordinator, Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) Faculty Coordinator, and Department of Mass Communication Faculty.
Prior to their time at Grambling State University, Marjorie was an Online Adjunct Instructor at Hampton University. Marjorie also served as an Assistant Professor at Saint Augustine's University, where they taught journalism, mass communication, and English courses.
Marjorie's early work experience includes teaching English courses at Louisburg College as an Instructor of English.
Marjorie Newman holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Developmental Education with a focus on Higher Education Administration from Grambling State University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University and a Master's degree in Journalism from Roosevelt University. In addition to their educational qualifications, Marjorie has also obtained certifications in Applying the QM Rubric and Designing Your Online Course from QM Quality Matters. Furthermore, they hold a Third Degree Black Belt from the United States Karate Alliance.
