Randy Hemann

Chief Medical Officer at Olmsted Medical Center

Randy Hemann, MD, joined Olmsted Medical Center as a Family Medicine physician in 1989 after completing medical school and his residency at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa.

Dr. Hemann has chaired OMC’s largest clinical department, Family Medicine, since 1993 and has been the medical director of OMC’s FastCare clinics since 2008. In his current role as a chief medical officer, Dr. Hemann works with clinicians and administrators to continually improve the healthcare experience for both southeastern Minnesota’s residents and the professionals who provide their care.

He would like patients coming to OMC to know " I am grateful to be surrounded by OMC staff and clinicians committed to patient-centered, safe, and evidence-based medical practices." He continues to care for patients at OMC’s Rochester Southeast clinic and to mentor new providers throughout the organization.

Dr. Hemann’s interests outside of work include exercise and the science of astronomy, and he is president of the Rochester Astronomy Club, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing our local community with opportunities to observe and enjoy the night skies.
