Debbie Ellinghaus

Debbie Ellinghaus is the Managing Director at Olney Theatre Center. Debbie has over fifteen years of experience in the field of development and fundraising, with a focus on arts and culture.

Ellinghaus began their career in development as an assistant at The Cathedral School, where they coordinated stewardship for the annual fund and managed volunteers. Debbie then served as the Development Director at Jean Cocteau Repertory Theatre before taking on the role of Development Associate at The Epiphany School.

In 2005, Ellinghaus joined Yale University as the Senior Associate Director of Development and Alumni Affairs for the Yale School of Drama and Yale Repertory Theatre. In this role, they managed fundraising activities for both organizations, including the annual fund, major gifts, corporations and foundations, government, special events, and board development. Debbie also served as the Managing Editor of the Annual Magazine and oversaw alumni and stewardship activities.

Ellinghaus left Yale in 2011 to become the Director of Development for the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Maryland, College Park. In this role, they were responsible for major gift fundraising efforts for the college.

Ellinghaus has been with Olney Theatre Center since 2014, first as the Director of Development and now as Managing Director.

Debbie Ellinghaus has a professional certificate in acting from the New Actors Workshop, a Bachelor of Arts in speech communication from the University of Maryland College Park, and a degree in journalism and theatre from the University of Miami. Debbie also attended Wilde Lake High School.
