João Pena Gil

João Pena Gil has a diverse work experience in the field of cyber security. João is currently working at OLX as the Head of Cyber Security since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at SecuritySide, CyberSecurity Services S.A. from April 2018 to December 2022. João also has experience as a Penetration Tester at Cobalt from January 2017 to March 2018 and as an Application Security Analysis Team Leader at Checkmarx from August 2016 to March 2018. In addition, João worked as an Application Security Analyst at ITSector from November 2015 to July 2016. Alongside their professional roles, João has also conducted workshops and delivered talks at DEFCON conferences in 2017 and 2019.

João Pena Gil completed a Certificate of Proficiency in English for Speakers of other languages at the University of Cambridge in 2006. João later pursued a Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Informática in Information Technology at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, starting in 2010.
