Gerrit van der Merwe

Gerrit van der Merwe is the Group Managing Director at OMA Group (West Africa). Prior to this, they were the Regional Business Controller Africa, Russia and Central Asia at GAC Group from October 2012 to May 2016. From July 2010 to October 2012, they were the Group General Manager Finance at GAC Shipping (Nig) Ltd. From October 2008 to June 2010, they were the Finance Executive at Metcash. From January 2006 to September 2008, they were the Group Financial Manager and Operations Executive at Thebe.

Gerrit van der Merwe has a Honours in B.Bom from Stellenbosch University in the field of Management Accounting. Gerrit also has a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from Stellenbosch University and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from William & Mary. Gerrit is also a member of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
