Taro Awano

Taro Awano is a Senior Architect at OMA since November 2023, having previously served as Chief Project Manager at KENGO KUMA & ASSOCIATES from April 2016 to November 2023. During this tenure, Taro managed several notable projects, including the Osaka Museum Project in Japan and the Vietnam Resort Project. Taro also held roles as Project Manager for projects such as the Niseko Hotel Project and the Cambodia Kampong Chhnang Masterplan, and was recognized with a 2nd Prize for the Saza Town Hall Proposal. Earlier in the career, Taro worked as an Architect on diverse projects, including the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo and the Hyatt Centric Xian. Taro began at OMA as an intern in early 2015 and holds both a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture from Kyoto University.
