Daryl Hornsby

Daryl Hornsby has diverse work experience in the fields of product ownership, UX/UI design, game production, and teaching.

Currently, at Omada, they hold the role of Product Owner for the UI and API teams, focusing on developing secure and user-friendly experiences. Daryl also manages an external development team.

Prior to Omada, Daryl worked at BridgeIT as a UX/UI Designer, where they designed B2B employee and patient engagement apps for various sectors. Daryl collaborated with clients and a development team based in Romania.

At Hugo Games A/S, Daryl served as a Producer/Product Manager, overseeing the management of a Free to Play mobile game portfolio and leading a team of developers and artists. Daryl also collaborated with external partner studios.

In their role as Lead Designer at Lohika ApS, Daryl contributed to the development of Machineers, a mobile puzzle game designed to teach children programming skills. Daryl worked in a small team of developers.

Daryl worked as a Junior Game Designer at MovieStarPlanet, where they designed in-game activities, managed the JIRA backlog, and improved communication within the team through the use of Confluence.

Beyond the gaming industry, Daryl gained experience at the University of East London as a Technical Demonstrator, teaching software workshops, and at PGL Travel as a Computer Games Design Tutor during summer camps.

Daryl also had a short work experience as a Game Designer at Vivid Digital Studios.

Daryl Hornsby earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) 1st Class degree in Computer Games Design (Story Development) from the University of East London, where they studied from 2008 to 2011. Daryl then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Games Design from IT-Universitetet i København, completing their studies from 2012 to 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Daryl Hornsby has also obtained several certifications. In December 2021, they earned certifications in "How to Ask Productive Questions," "Learning the OWASP Top 10," "OWASP Top 10: #1 Injection and #2 Broken Authentication," and "OWASP Top 10: #3 Sensitive Data Exposure and #4 External Entities (XXE)" from LinkedIn. In November 2021, they acquired certifications in "Agile Product Owner Role: Foundations" and "Agile Product Owner Role: Techniques" from LinkedIn. Lastly, in March 2022, they achieved certifications in "Design Thinking: Implementing the Process" and "Facilitating Remote Design Thinking" from LinkedIn. Daryl Hornsby also completed a certification in "Learning GDPR" in November 2021, also from LinkedIn.
