Eric Bassingthwaighte

Eric Bassingthwaighte is the Manager of Energy Commodities at Omaha Public Power District since December 2018, overseeing energy supply planning portfolios, including financial and physical commodity positions. Previously, Eric held roles at Omaha Public Power District, including Manager RTO Policy, where recommendations on transmission and generation policies were developed, and Senior and Real-Time Energy Marketer, focusing on strategies to optimize load and generation assets. Prior experience includes founding Fuel Risk Management, providing tailored hedging strategies for clients in transportation-intensive industries, and serving as a Registered Broker and Investment Adviser at multiple financial firms. Eric holds a Master of Science in Global Energy Management from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Duke University, along with a Markets and Management Certificate.
