Luke Thornburg

Luke Thornburg is an experienced zookeeper with a career spanning over a decade in animal care and training. Currently serving as a zookeeper at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium since September 2020, Thornburg previously held zookeeper positions at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, and Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, where responsibilities included the care of large mammals such as African elephants and southern white rhinoceroses. Thornburg's background also includes various internships and research positions, such as at The Biltmore Company and Wildlife Safari, which provided exposure to animal care for species including bears and big cats. Thornburg earned a degree from Harvard University between 2009 and 2013.
