Joel Carver

Joel Carver has a diverse work experience that spans across multiple industries. Joel is currently working as a Software Engineer at Ōmcare since December 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Webmaster at Minnesota Lapidary Supply and Rocks and Things in the early 2000s. Joel also worked as a Contracted Software Engineer with Boston Scientific through Signature Consultants from May 2019 to December 2021.

Additionally, Joel has experience as a Software Engineer at OATI from August 2013 to May 2019 and as an Interactive Voice Response Programmer at Iteris, Inc. from May 2010 to August 2013. Joel also worked as an Instructor at Grand Forks Public Schools and a Webmaster at online-clinic.com simultaneously from 2011 to 2013.

Joel's earlier work experience includes roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of North Dakota's Computer Science Department from August 2009 to May 2011, where they taught classes, composed lab outlines, and tutored courses in Java and C/C++ Language. Joel also served as a Programmer/Research Assistant at the same department from September 2008 to October 2009, conducting research in machine vision and developing robotics software in C++ while administering the NFS server and lab network.

Before their career in software engineering, Joel worked as the Chief of Maintenance at Maguire & Strickland Refining from 2000 to 2009. In this role, they reported to management on plant and facilities needs, researched and recommended equipment purchases, and built and installed new equipment while maintaining existing equipment.

Joel Carver obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Computer Science from Concordia College, where they studied from 2003 to 2006. Joel continued their education at the University of North Dakota and earned a Masters of Science in Computer Science, completing this program from 2006 to 2012.
