Sambit Mahapatra

Sambit Mahapatra is a product manager at Omdena. Prior to this, they worked as a software engineer at Veritas Technologies LLC from July 2018 to June 2019. There, they performed optimisation of the metadata collection time for VxFS by 30-70% with multi-threading in C along with a live status display. Sambit also built a size estimator of metadata of a file system using statistical inference on i-node information. In addition, they contributed on enabling the LKU (Live Kernel Update) feature of VxFS for AIX operating system. From May 2017 to December 2017, Sambit Mahapatra was an AI intern at Sigma Analytics and Computing where they revised DL model serving from flask to TensorFlow-serving and client calls from http to grpc, resulting in a 3x increase in inference speed. Sambit also prepared a Web-App showcase of an OCR tool and a sentiment analyser along with building and deployed of those models.
