George Zakis

George Zakis is a Senior Software Engineer Technical Lead at Omilia, specializing in project management, team organization, and cost control while also serving as an NLU Engineer. Responsibilities include designing omni-channel IVR NLU applications, developing multilingual conversational applications for the banking sector, and automating tasks with scripting and CI/CD tools. Previous experience includes teaching educational robotics at Ampersand Robotics and working as a research assistant at the Institute for Language and Speech Processing. Early career involvement included leading a team at a children's camp for the National Bank of Greece. George Zakis holds a Master's degree in Natural Language Processing from the National Technical University of Athens and an undergraduate degree in Greek Language and Literature from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon, along with a diploma in Classical Music from the National Conservatory of Athens.
