Ganesh Palanikumar has worked in a variety of roles in the tech industry since 2013. Ganesh began their career as an Intern at Teravault, where they interfaced and ported a PN532 NFC reader on a Nitrogen6x board running Android OS. Ganesh then worked as a Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at Samsung Electronics from 2015 to 2018, where they developed REST APIs for Trusted Service Managers and designed and developed Value Added Services modules for Samsung Pay India. In 2018, they held two roles simultaneously as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science Language Technologies Institute and an Intern at Samsung Research, where they worked on a project involving concurrency and parallelisation of an existing algorithm. In the same year, they also held an internship at Apple as a Data Engineering Intern. From 2019 to 2023, they worked as a Data Engineer - AI/ML and OS Engineer - AI/ML at Apple, where they worked on the Analytics component of the internal team to enable A/B testing of models on large populations and deployment of models/assets to public. Ganesh also worked with a small team of experienced engineers to develop a version of CoreML capable of exploiting multiple cores to speed up training of models and developed an app to demo this in NeurIPS 2019. Ganesh is currently working as a Data Engineering Lead at Omneky.
Ganesh Palanikumar completed their Masters in Computational Data Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 2018, specializing in Analytics. Ganesh obtained their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2015. Ganesh attended Maharishi Vidya Mandir for their Junior College from 2009 to 2011. Ganesh completed their High School from PSBB Sr. Secondary School, Chennai from 1995 to 2009.
