Wenlong Yao

Wenlong Yao is an experienced consultant in reliability and quality at Omnex Inc since November 2024. Prior to this role, Yao served as Quality and Reliability Manager and Staff Reliability Engineer at Cepton from February 2021 to October 2023, where responsibilities included conducting reliability tests for LiDAR sensors and managing supplier quality teams. Yao also held the position of Reliability Manager at Luminus Devices from July 2016 to February 2021, focusing on designing reliability test plans for high-power LED modules and managing reliability labs. Earlier experience includes roles as a Reliability Engineer at Philips Lumileds and a Senior Scientist at Intematix, as well as postdoctoral research at the University of California, Davis. Yao earned a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Iowa State University and holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in the same field from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics and Zhejiang University, respectively.
