Daniel Pretorius

Daniel Pretorius has a diverse work experience in the field of animation and technical art. Daniel started their career as a freelance rigging artist in 2013 and later worked as a tutor at South Seas Film and Television School. In 2016, they worked as a freelance artist at Bryan Design.

In 2017, Daniel joined Weta Digital, where they held multiple roles, including junior technical animator, junior motion RnD technical director, and technical director. Daniel worked in these roles until 2020.

From 2020 to 2022, Daniel worked as a senior rigging specialist at RocketWerkz. Currently, they are employed as a senior technical artist at Omni Creator Products starting from February 2022.

Daniel Pretorius completed their education history as follows:

From 2005 to 2009, they attended Longbay College where they obtained their NCEA Level 2.

In 2010, they enrolled at South Seas Film and Television School and earned a Diploma in Acting.

The following year, in 2011, they continued their studies at the same institution and completed a Diploma in Animation as a Technical Artist.

In 2017, they attended the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand and received a certificate in Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching.

Most recently, from 2023 to 2026, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at IU International University of Applied Sciences.
