Norman Huang has had a varied career path, beginning in 2008 with a role as Customer Service at San Francisco International Airport. In 2009, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), and from 2010-2013 they held various roles at UCSD, including DNA Barcoding Design Team Member, Research Assistant, ECE Design Competition Project Leader/Finalist, and Undergraduate Research Assistant. In 2012, they founded EatSafe LLC, a portable, contactless food safety analyzer. In 2013, they became a Doctoral Student at UCSD and an Stage 1 and 2 Awardee/Team Leader at NSF Innovation Corps. In 2014, they were a Stage I Awardee/Team Leader at NCIIA. In 2017, they were an Advanced Professional Degree Intern (Insight Healthcare) at McKinsey & Company. Finally, in 2020, they became Co-Founder and CTO of OmniSync Inc., a software company that helps entrepreneurs create strong foundations for their ventures.
Norman Huang received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Bioengineering: Biotechnology from UC San Diego in 2013, having started their studies there in 2009. Subsequently, they went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from UC San Diego in 2019.
