Rachel Calder

Rachel Calder is a data engineer currently employed at OMNY Health since January 2023, with prior roles including a graduate research assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology and an analysis consultant at DataWorks ATL. Experience in the Weitz Group involved developing machine learning analysis and automated metagenomics scripts in Python. As a health data engineer intern, Rachel created a synthetic data model to generate realistic health data. Previous positions include education coordinator at the Institute for Systems Biology, where contributions included RNA-seq analysis and curriculum development, as well as research and mentoring roles at the University of Washington Bothell, where Rachel focused on epigenetics and molecular biology. Rachel holds a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from Georgia Institute of Technology and has completed certificates and degrees in data science and biology from the University of Washington and Cascadia College.
