Chris Nelson

Chris Nelson is the current Security & Compliance Officer at Omnyway. Prior to this, they held various positions at the company for 7 years and 10 months, including Chief Security and Privacy Officer and Chief Security and Compliance Officer. In these roles, Chris was responsible for security, compliance and privacy for Omnyway. Chris established and implemented security program policies and standards for all departments, and collaborated with engineering and developers on data security concerns for product services, cloud infrastructure and application projects. Chris was also responsible for day-to-day security advice, in the area of information assets, risk and vulnerability management, audit and compliance, incident response team, logging and monitoring oversite and security awareness training. Additionally, they served as the risk and compliance officer establishing programs and evaluating compliance, as well as the key respondent to new customer third party risk assessment questionnaires. Chris was responsible for obtaining an initial PCI – Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliance and maintaining compliance annually over a 6 year period.

Chris Nelson has a BS in Computer Science from George Mason University and a BFA in Communications Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University.
