Willemien van Aalst

Willemien van Aalst is an accomplished media executive with extensive experience in the film and television industry. Currently serving as the Directeur/hoofdredacteur at Omroep Human since January 2018, Willemien previously held the role of Algemeen Directeur at the Nederlands Film Festival from October 2009 to July 2017. As Creative Producer at IDTV Docs from November 2004 to October 2009, Willemien contributed significantly to documentary filmmaking. Earlier roles include Organisatieadviseur en interim manager at Andersson Elffers Felix from September 2000 to November 2004 and Adjunct directeur at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) from December 1987 to September 2000. Willemien van Aalst holds a drs. degree in Film, Television, and Theater from Utrecht University, earned between 1982 and 1989.
