Onno Falkena

Onno Falkena has extensive experience in journalism and cultural advisory roles, currently serving as a journalist and reporter, as well as coordinator of new media at Omrop Fryslân since November 1993. Falkena also acts as a policy advisor to the board at EBLT (Europeesk Buro foar Lytse Talen) since January 2015. From January 2017 to December 2020, Falkena was a member of the Provincial Advisory Committee on Culture for Provincie Drenthe, providing guidance on subsidy applications. Additionally, Falkena served as president of the jury for the European Minority Film Festival from November 2006 to November 2018, and has held various leadership positions within EBLT and Liet International, promoting minority languages and cultures. Falkena began a freelance journalism career in September 1989 and participated as an exchange reporter in 1998. Educational background includes a Gymnasium degree from Het Drachtster Lyceum.
